No one is perfect.
There’s always something you don’t quite like about yourself or something you want to change about yourself.

.
It’s like Yoshi.
Yoshi has big feet but small body.
Yoshi has adorable eyes but big round nose.
Yoshi is cute but it’s a dinosaur after all.

Learning how to appreciate yourself starts from knowing what you don’t like about yourself.
The 10 thing I don’t like about myself.

1) Height
When I was in primary school, my teachers will always tell us to queue up from the shortest to the tallest. Without any hesitation, I will always transport myself to the front of the queue. Because I know I am short and that’s what I’m born with.
Girls that are models and air stewardess have a standard height and I know I’m never going to reach that height. EVER.
2) Very fair
Some people must think I like my skin being fair but no they’re wrong! I don’t like it at all! Everytime when I take pictures with my friends, I will stand out because of how fair my skin is! Sometimes I think I look a bit like a ghost zombie very fair girl in pictures
There’s like skincare products everywhere nowadays that whitens your skin and I absolutely dislike them! Though most of the time, they only brightens your skin rather than “whitening” it.
3) Scar
Everyone has a scar somewhere right? Yup, for sure.
Do you know where my scar is? On my knee. A massive one too!
I used to hate wearing skirts when I was young up to probably graduation of high school. I never blamed anyone for my scar cause I know that that is what is meant to happen and no one can stop it from happening.
4) Eyesight
I have really really really really really bad eyesight. If I ever tell you I’m blind, I meant it (not literally though). Someone’s face can only be clear-ish to me (when I’m not wearing my glasses) when they are standing probably 1 metre away from me.
So whenever I see someone wave at my direction, I will become paranoid. I will either be looking around for a bit to make sure I’m the only person there being waved at or walk close enough to find out if I know the person. It’s also awkward when I stare so long just to see if the person/”blob” I spotted from far away is my friend or not. Sometimes, people get the wrong idea and they think that I’m checking them out :/
5) Eyelash
I can’t be bothered explaining too much about this but I have eyelashes that literally pokes my eyeballs. They grow towards my eyeballs and the only way I can deal with them is to physically pluck them out (suggested by optometrist).
Because of that, I’m not recommended to wear contact lens. Stuck with glasses all my life
6) Baby fats
Although making me look young, my chubby cheeks also make me look plump! Sometimes, I’m not even doing anything but smiling and snap! Someone takes a hideous picture of my chubby cheeks.
And and and you can’t cut bangs when you have chubby cheeks!
Sad-edd
7) Legs
Again, they’re fair and short and… hairy (just joking :P) It’s not because of how they look cause you can always change how they look. It’s the pants! It is soooooo hard to find jeans that fits short people!
If the size fits your waist, it will too long
If the size sits at the right length, you can’t seem to zip up the front!
Feet
I have this lump on my feet which is herited from my Mom. It hurts when you wear too much high heels. It hurts when you walk too much. It hurts if it’s been in enclosed shoes for too long.
Furthermore, shoes that fits normal break apart from the lumpy side after a while.
It’s not retarded though so don’t worry guys! I don’t have ugly feet :/
9) Eyes
Flash flash flash! Eyes closed. Yup, that’s what happens whenever I take pictures! It’s annoying. My eyes are very sensitive with light. I have no idea why but whenever bright light shines on my face, I will either start tearing or I can’t even open up my eyes.
So I can never keep my eyes open at any kinds of flash. Camera flash. Lightning flash. Firework flash. Thrilling movie flash.
10) Action
Once again, I have short legs! Hence, I don’t walk as fast as many people. Sometimes, when I’m walking at my own normal pace and people just overtake you.
It’s like every 2 steps you take is every 1 step they take. So it takes twice more steps for me to get to wherever I want as compared to taller people.

Sometimes, I feel annoyed at myself for being the way I am. There are always times when you just wished you were better.
But I never forget to keep on thinking what I love about myself.
The 10 things I love about myself :]

1) Eyes
Unlike the typical “asian” stereotype, I’m blessed with big eyes! Yays~
“The eyes are the soul to your body” (眼睛是人的灵魂之窗). I love my eyes cause they make me look awake unless I’m really tired of course!!
2) Height
I know I complained about my height just now but sometimes I try not to tell myself that I’m short. It’s more like I’m petite =D
Although you might say that I’m just saying that to make myself feel better but I’m telling you no. It’s not about making yourself feel better or not. It’s about how you view things. Instead of having negative words in your mind, why not have more positive words.
People are happier when they worry less and think positive :]
3) Voice
Okay, I’m not saying I’m an extremely good singer but I am quite blessed. I’m not monotoned. I can sing Happy Birthday in lotsa version to make happy apple laugh (inside joke).
Whenever I go for karaoke, I will get positive comments about my voice which I feel really great about myself. Proud? Maybe. But definitely more confident. Because I love to sing since I was young.
4) Skin
I have pretty good skin considering that I take care of it when I was young and I don’t have super sensitive skin like others. Partly because I’m lucky. But partly also because I take care of it. I’m blessed because I don’t suffer from major skin problems like acne.
Pimples? Come on, everyone has them =D
5) Body
Although I’m short but I can say that every part of my body is in pretty even proportion. I’m not too fat and not too skinny. Just right.
6) Weight
I’m normal weight! Whee~~
I don’t want to be super skinny or underweight. I want to enjoy eating and exercising at the same time. I want to be fit and healthy rather than model skinny - if you know what I mean :]
And most of all, I am proud to tell you all that I am NOT fat. Even though Ken calls me a pig =D
7) Hair
I used to know a friend that has really frizzy hair that she doesn’t know what to do with it. She went on several trips to salons to get it straighten but it could never been as straight as mine. I feel sad for her at that time but at the same time feel blessed for myself.
I’ve never rebonded my hair even though I had ever thought of doing so when I was younger. I do straighten my hair and use styling products to make it look nicer but what you see is what you get :]
Eyelash
Although I have eyelash poking my poor eyeballs, I also have long eyelash that doesn’t! That means, I don’t need super lengthening mascara cause it’s already looks decent :]
9) Face shape
I’m not saying I’m like super super pretty but I think I’m not bad. Well, at least I think everything fits the way it is. I’m not saying it’s absolutely perfect like a fallen angel but I think at least I deserve to be crowned “Reeny”. I mean, how many people can be crowned *angels singing* Reeny other than me… and Reena =D
Simply because I am me and I love me. Not ashamed. Not proud. Just plain blessings.
10) Love
Before anyone else can love you, you have to love yourself. I know there are things I don’t like about myself but I’ve learnt to appreciate more of what I love about myself which is more important than what I love and what I don’t love.
Of course, my boyfriend loves me for the way I am. Whether I am short or not. Whether I have good skin or not. Regardless, knowing that someone out there loves me makes me want to love myself more. Love you Ken! :]

.
I have been going on about loving myself or not. But the point of my entry is to let you all know something.
Whenever you feel like you don’t like yourself and you want to change, don’t.
Don’t become someone that is don’t like but be someone that you love.
There’s always SOMETHING in you that YOU know you love about yourself and appreciate it.
Don’t just appreciate it though! Appreciate it to bits.
Cause if you don’t love yourself, how can you expect others to love you?
