Long and Tiring Day…
Another long day at uni!
It’s only the second week and I’m already complaining
I felt so retuctant to get up for uni this morning… so I kinda snooze for 20 mins =.= But I managed to catch the bus in time and didn’t get to uni late.
I had Clincial Microbiology lab class this morning and I did something really really really embarassing…
Reeny was happily preparing a broth of colony C and was ready to streak out for a single colony on the purity plate. As you might have guessed or known, a purity (being PURE) plate is something that only contains a single colony of microorganism (and in my case, it is colony C). If there is more than one colony growing on there after incubation, it would mean that I have used wrong technique or contamination…
So happened that when I was streaking out the colony, Zamri was talking to me. So I was chatting to him… and accidentally spit some saliva on the plate! =.=
IT’S NOT FUNNY!
Anyway, I recalled that our mouth contains many mixed microorganism… so I could already predict how my “purity” plate would look like - mixed! Hence, I went to Paul (our demonstrator) and asked if I could use a new plate…
R: Hmm, Paul… I was just wondering if I could get a new blood agar plate…
P: Oh… how come? *giving me a raised eyebrow look*
R: Hmmmmm… cause I kinda contaminated it…
P: with…?
R: Hehehe.. I was talking while streaking out the colony.. so I kinda spit on it =\
P: *giving me a odd look* Okay… *counting the number of saliva spots on my plate* go grab one at the end of the room.
R: Thanks
So yeh… that’s what happen =\ I shall see if I get a purity plate tmr. Hahaha!
